Important Announcement regarding our Clinical System

We want to inform all our patients about an important change to our clinical system, and to make you aware of a short-term impact.

We are moving to a system called EMIS Web, a system which will be used nationally across Wales in all GP surgeries.

The clinical system transition will be happening during the fortnight commencing 9 September through to 20 September. During the transition, there will be some impact on our services.

Please be reassured that we will do all we can to minimise any disruption to you, our valued patients. However, we would ask for your patience during this transition.

Impact on Appointments

During the period of downtime, we will be able to provide emergency GP appointments only. The key period of downtime is from Thursday 12 September through to Friday 20 September.

Impact on Prescriptions

If you regularly order repeat medication, we will arrange for two-months’ worth of medication to be ordered to ensure you have sufficient medication during the transition period.

Impact on Online Services

The legacy system, MyHealthOnline, will cease working once we move to the new system. We are encouraging all patients to use the NHS Wales app going forward. Access to the NHS Wales app will be limited during the transition, but you should not need to re-register once our new system is in place.

Many GP practices in Wales have already transitioned well to EMIS Web, and we trust our experience, too, will be positive.

Please be assured that the surgery (in both Pencoed and Llanharan) remains open during this period, and you can still contact us during this time. Our team are still working as hard as ever, and we will do all we can to support you as always.

If you have any concerns or questions about this system change, please feel free to reach out to one of our team.

Your understanding and cooperation during this period of adjustment are greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
