Surgery Staff

We are a 4 partner practice supported by three salaried GPs. We are a GP training practice and will usually have the assistance of fully qualified Doctors who are specialising in General Practice (called "Trainee" or "registrar" GPs).

Our main surgery is based in Pencoed and we also have a branch surgery with limited opening hours in Llanharan.

Save your surgery

A staggering 100 GP surgeries in Wales have closed since 2012. This number represents a crisis that affects GPs and their patients day in day out. Patients have less doctors to turn to and GPs are faced with an unsustainable workload.

And while the funding for General Practice has plummeted, the demand for the services has grown.

Please could you support us, your local GP Surgery, by contacting your local Member of Senedd using this form from the British Medical Association (BMA)

We want to improve the way you can access services in your GP Practice

A new set of standards were announced by the Minister for Health and Social Services in March 2019 that are aimed to raise and improve the level of service for patients in Wales from their GP practices.

These standards are set out below.:

  • People receive a prompt response to their contact with a GP practice via telephone.
  • Practices have the appropriate telephony systems in place to support the needs of people avoiding the need to call back multiple times and will check that they are handling calls in this way.
  • People receive bilingual information on local and emergency services when contacting a practice.
  • People can access information on how to get help and advice.
  • People receive the right care at the right time in a joined-up way which is based on their needs.
  • People can use a range of options to contact their GP practice.
  • People can email a practice to request a non-urgent consultation or a call back.
  • Practices understand the needs of people within their practice and use this information to anticipate the demand on its services.

What you can expect from us:

  • The right care at the right time based on your needs. This may mean you see a more appropriate health professional without needing to see your GP.
  • Bilingual telephone information on local and emergency services.
  • Information on how to access the right help and advice.
  • A quicker response when you telephone your GP practice.
  • Improved telephone systems so you don't need to call back multiple times.
  • A range of options to contact your GP practice and make an appointment.
  • We will plan our services, listen to you, and ensure that our services meet your needs.
