Dealing with Aggressive Behaviour

Today, unfortunately, we experienced a violent and aggressive outburst towards doctors and staff at the surgery. The incident left even experienced staff shaken and upset. This behaviour is completely unacceptable and the incident has been reported to the police.

We understand that we all have bad days. We also understand that many patients contact us because they are upset or in pain. We recognise that there are frustrations with long delays to access care, cost of living, and many other difficulties. But these things affect us all, and we would kindly remind all who contact the surgery to treat us with the respect that you too would like to receive.

We have a zero tolerance policy towards this kind of behaviour towards any of our staff. And for any patients who had to witness the outburst, we are sorry you had to experience that today.

If you do have comments or concerns, we really don't mind you contacting us through the appropriate means. Sometimes talking an issue through can be really beneficial for us all. Please do let us know where we've done well, or what we could do better, and more, perhaps how you could help us achieve that.

To the many, many patients who continue to support and use our services appropriately, thank you so, so much.
